Over the past decade, Pakistan’s ties with Russia have strengthened, characterized by greater collaboration across multiple sectors and active participation in multilateral organizations. The two nations are considering a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which could further solidify their relationship and boost economic cooperation. Additionally, their aligned stances on various global issues reflect an expanding diplomatic connection.

Rear Admiral Alexei Sisyoev, commander of the Russian Navy’s Primorskaya Flotilla, has expressed Russia’s readiness to share artificial intelligence (AI) technology with Pakistan. In an interview with GEO News Live TV, he confirmed Moscow’s willingness to cooperate in AI advancements and acknowledged Russia’s keen interest in Pakistan’s peacekeeping efforts. He also pointed out the growing international participation in these exercises.

Regarding AI, he noted that acquiring expertise from nations directly facing security threats would be highly beneficial. It seems that it will serve the two countries great benefits in terms of consolidated military, defense, diplomatic and strategic gains. Moreover, for a developing nation like Pakistan would have more geopolitical leverage in alliance with Russia.
