RUDA and easypaisa sign MoU to expand digital financial inclusion across 93 villages under Cashless Pakistan initiative.
The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and easypaisa digital bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote digital financial inclusion across 93 villages under RUDA’s jurisdiction.
The agreement was signed at RUDA’s head office in Lahore by Shahzad Khan, Chief Business Officer at easypaisa, and Brig. (Retd.) Bakhtiar Akram, Executive Director Land Acquisition at RUDA. The partnership aims to expand access to branchless banking services and raise awareness among residents and small businesses.
Under the initiative, both organisations will collaborate on the Prime Minister’s Cashless Pakistan Scheme, with a shared vision to develop Ravi City as a fully cashless urban centre. The integration of digital financial services across residential, commercial and public sectors is expected to enhance transparency, efficiency and economic participation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shahzad Khan said the initiative reflects easypaisa’s commitment to expanding financial inclusion, noting the platform’s extensive nationwide reach. Bakhtiar Akram highlighted the project’s potential to transform local communities into digitally empowered economic hubs.
Aligned with the vision of the State Bank of Pakistan, the initiative aims to support inclusive economic growth by enabling underserved populations to participate in the digital economy.
