The Government of Punjab has launched Pakistan’s first AI-powered EcoBot to provide real-time air quality updates and increase public awareness about environmental health.
According to Environment Protection & Climate Change Department – EP&CCD Secretary Sajid Bashir, the EcoBot serves as a communication link between citizens and the department, allowing people to instantly check the Air Quality Index (AQI) in cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan. The tool gives quick access to accurate data and simple advice on reducing exposure to pollution.
Officials said the EcoBot uses technology to offer personalized updates, health tips, and educational content to help citizens better understand environmental risks. It will also send daily reminders about small lifestyle actions that support cleaner air and healthier living.
Bashir said the initiative reflects the province’s ongoing effort to use digital tools for environmental improvement. He added that Punjab aims to build a cleaner and greener province by combining citizen engagement with practical, technology based solutions.
