President Asif Ali Zardari will visit the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, accompanied by a high-level delegation, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office. During the visit, the president is scheduled to hold meetings with senior UAE leaders to assess the full scope of bilateral ties.
Discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade and economic partnership, defence and security, and people to people relations. The two sides are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The Foreign Office said the visit follows the recent trip of the UAE president to Pakistan and reflects the close relationship between the two countries. It described the visit as reaffirming the commitment of both sides to translate long standing friendship into a mutually beneficial partnership.
“This visit reflects the deep brotherly ties between the two nations,” the statement said.
