Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary recently praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its role in digital transformation during his visit to Abu Dhabi. In a meeting with Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement (DGE), Iqbal learned about how UAE’s adoption of artificial intelligence and digital technologies has changed governance and delivery of public services.
One of the standout points was the UAE’s cutting-edge platform, TAMM, that makes government services streamlined for citizens. In awe of such progress, Iqbal showed interest in linking up with the DGE to strengthen Pakistan’s own digital efforts. He asserted that learnings from the UAE could go a long way in supporting Pakistan’s “Uraan Pakistan” program, geared towards end-to-end public sector transformation.
This participation reflects Pakistan’s determination to learn from international best practices to fast-track its digital transformation. Through such cross-border partnerships, Pakistan seeks to strengthen its digital infrastructure, better serve the public, and fuel economic growth in the digital economy.
