The government has rolled out the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups, a new initiative designed to support technology startups in adopting, optimising, and scaling their operations through cloud infrastructure. The one-year programme is being implemented by ignite, National Technology Fund under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan (MoITT).
The initiative seeks to reduce early-stage infrastructure costs while promoting efficient and responsible cloud utilisation. Under the programme, eligible startups will receive tier-based cloud cost reimbursements of up to 60 percent, along with structured technical guidance to support cloud adoption, optimisation, and long-term scalability. The model combines financial support with targeted technical enablement and collaboration with both local and global Cloud Service Providers (CSPs).
Ignite clarified that applications are open to all startups, including those not affiliated with National Incubation Centres (NICs). Selected participants will also have opportunities to work directly with interested cloud providers, strengthening access to global expertise and ecosystem-level support.
In parallel, Ignite has invited experienced cloud and technology professionals to join the programme as mentors. Applications for expert mentors, who will assist with startup evaluation and cloud architecture guidance, are open until December 31, 2025.
