The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan has issued a severe weather alert for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), warning of thunderstorms, windstorms, heavy rainfall, and isolated hailstorms from April 18–19, 2025. The affected areas include Malakand, Hazara, Bannu, Charsadda, Karak, Khyber, Kohat, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Nowshera, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swabi, Waziristan, and nearby regions. This extreme weather poses potential threats to infrastructure, transportation, and agriculture.

Authorities caution that heavy rain and snowfall may trigger landslides or avalanches in mountainous areas, leading to possible road blockages on key highways. Flash flooding is also a concern. Residents and travelers are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to NDMA’s guidelines.

To minimize risks, citizens should remain updated via the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” mobile app, check road conditions before traveling, avoid unnecessary trips, and monitor weather forecasts, especially in vulnerable areas. Tourists should take extra precautions and follow local advisories. NDMA emphasizes the importance of preparedness and urges residents to take necessary safety measures. Emergency response teams remain on high alert to address potential crises and assist those affected by the severe weather conditions.
