Meta is set to invest $60–65 billion in artificial intelligence (#AI) #infrastructure in 2025, per CEO Mark Zuckerberg‘s recent #announcement. This represents a #sharp rise from the $38–40 billion spent in 2024 as Meta steps up its #competition with OpenAI and Google.
Zuckerberg labeled 2025 as a “defining year for AI,” revealing #plans for a massive data center spanning a significant portion of #Manhattan. The facility will bring 1 #gigawatt of computing #power #online and include over 1.3 million #GPU chips by year-end.
#Meta‘s stock rose 1.7% following the #announcement, closing at $647.49, a record high. Over the past year, the company’s shares have climbed nearly 65%, reflecting investor #confidence in its AI strategy.
The announcement aligns with the unveiling of “#Stargate,” a $500 billion AI initiative led by the U.S. government, with SoftBank Group Corp., Oracle, and OpenAI as partners.
