JazzWorld has partnered with GSMA to expand women’s digital participation and co‑fund Pakistani startups, strengthening inclusive innovation across Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
JazzWorld has reinforced its role as a leading digital innovator in Pakistan by announcing two strategic collaborations with the GSMA ecosystem during Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, aimed at accelerating women’s digital inclusion and strengthening the country’s innovation landscape.
As part of the GSMA Connected Women initiative, JazzWorld has committed to expanding meaningful digital participation for women by 2028. While nearly half of Pakistani women are now connected to mobile networks, their engagement with digital services remains disproportionately low. JazzWorld plans to address this gap by enhancing female participation across key platforms including Tamasha, SIMOSA, FikrFree, Apna Clinic, and Zarr. These interventions will focus on financial inclusion, healthcare access, digital livelihoods, trust and safety, and inclusive product design.
In a parallel development, JazzWorld signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the GSMA’s Mobile for Development Foundation to co‑fund Pakistani startups selected under the GSMA Innovation Fund. The partnership will provide financial support, visibility, and capacity‑building opportunities to startups delivering social and economic impact through mobile technology.
“Closing the gender gap requires us to design for real lives, not just provide access,” said Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld. GSMA’s John Giusti added that the collaboration will strengthen support for entrepreneurs driving positive social impact.
