In an exciting move towards digital financial inclusion,JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading fintech platform, has joined hands with Pakistan International Airlines to simplify digital payments for flight bookings. This partnership particularly benefits JazzCash’s 48 million customers, especially those in rural and semi-urban areas who may not have easy access to traditional banking services.
Until now, booking a PIA ticket online required a credit or debit card or a visit to a ticketing office. With this new collaboration, travelers can book flights simply by calling PIA’s helpline. Once booked, they’ll receive a unique PSID number, which they can use to make payments through the JazzCash app or at any JazzCash agent location. Once the payment is confirmed, PIA will issue the ticket, making the process smoother and more accessible.
Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing how it empowers millions by providing a seamless payment option without the need for a bank account. PIA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nousherwan Adil, echoed this sentiment, calling it a step forward in enhancing customer convenience.
This collaboration marks another milestone in Pakistan’s digital transformation, making air travel accessible and hassle-free for everyone.
