HBL among Pakistan’s leading banks, has entered a new partnership with Ahya | احیا Technologies, a homegrown AI-driven climate software company to work towards net-zero emissions by 2030.
With AhyaOS, HBL can now track, analyze, and slash emissions with precision—all in one platform much like having a financial statement, but for carbon. This move aligns with HBL’s commitment to the Aga Khan Development Network’s sustainability goals, reinforcing its stance as a leader in green banking.
Ahya CEO Salaal Hasan calls it an “economic necessity” for financial institutions to integrate sustainability, and he’s thrilled to help HBL spearhead this shift. Maya Inayat Ismail, Chairperson of HBL’s Sustainability Forum, shares the sentiment, emphasizing that for HBL, sustainability isn’t just a promise but a responsibility.
With over 1,700 branches and 37 million clients worldwide, HBL is setting the bar for eco-conscious banking. Meanwhile, Ahya, founded in 2022, continues its mission of helping enterprises go net zero across Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The two are collaborating to cement the idea that finance and climate action aren’t mutually exclusive.
