Mari Energies, GHANI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES LIMITED Manufacturer of Industrial & Medical Gases , and Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd. Pakistan have signed a gas sales and purchase deal. Under this agreement, GCIL will receive 3 MMSCFD of gas from the Maiwand-X1 discovery in Block-28, Kohlu, Baluchistan. This will happen during the extended well testing phase.
GCIL says this will help them cut down on energy costs. It also means they can start supplying gas to industrial buyers across the country. To make the most of it, they plan to set up a processing plant in the area allowing them way to refine the gas before sale.
The company expects this step to increase its revenue by more than Rs. 3.5 billion annually and strengthen their position in the energy market.
