Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese space technology firm GALAXYSPACE, headed by its Chairman, Xu Ming. The delegation conveyed a strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s growing space technology sector. During the meeting, both sides explored potential areas of collaboration, particularly in satellite development, telecommunications, and satellite internet services.
The Prime Minister underscored the strategic value Pakistan places on advancing its space capabilities, reaffirming China’s role as the country’s most trusted friend and key strategic partner.
The Chinese delegation expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of joint ventures with Pakistani space agencies and private telecom firms. They noted the mutual benefits such partnerships could offer, especially in strengthening technological infrastructure.
Their interactions with officials from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, as well as Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Comission (SUPARCO), were described as highly constructive. The delegates appreciated the openness and potential for meaningful cooperation that emerged from these discussions.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Shaza Khawaja, Adviser Dr. Tauqir Shah, Secretary IT Zarar Hashim, PTA Chairman Hafeez Rehman, and Member Telecom Muhammad Jahanzeb.
