Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Saturday departed for the United States to participate in the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, where he is expected to attend more than 50 high-level engagements.
The meetings, scheduled from April 13 to 18 in Washington, DC, will bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers and development experts amid continued global economic uncertainty.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Aurangzeb will represent Pakistan at key IMF and World Bank events and engage in a broad range of bilateral and multilateral discussions with global financial leaders, development partners and policymakers.
Ahead of the meetings, the finance minister is also set to visit Boston to participate in the Pakistan Conference at Harvard University, where he will share Pakistan’s economic outlook, reform trajectory and growth prospects with academics and members of the Pakistani diaspora.
On the sidelines of the Spring Meetings, he is scheduled to hold meetings with senior IMF and World Bank leadership, officials from the US administration, and representatives of major global financial institutions including Citibank and JP Morgan Chase.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s continued focus on macroeconomic stability, reforms and strengthening ties with international financial institutions.
