Dewan Cement Limited has launched a six megawatt solar power system at its factory in Dhabeji, District Malir, Karachi. the company shared the update in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Saturday. the solar system now covers more than half of the plant’s energy needs. this marks a major move toward cleaner and more efficient operations.

According to the company, this project shows Dewan Cement Limited’s focus on sustainability and energy savings. Muhammad Hanif, the company secretary, said this step reflects their aim for greener energy and better operational performance. the company hopes this move will also improve long term planning and reduce dependency on costly fuel.

The shift to solar energy is part of a bigger plan to reduce carbon emissions, lower costs, and support local energy production. fuel prices have gone up in recent times, which has made it hard for many industries to manage costs. This solar investment is expected to help balance that by cutting energy bills and adding security to operations.

The update was officially shared under Section 96 of the Securities Act 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of Pakistan Stock Exchange – PSX rules. It was also sent to the SECP. This shows that Dewan Cement Limited is following all required laws while pushing for a more sustainable future in the industrial sector.
