Bank Alfalah Limited recently collaborated with the Center for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) at IBA Karachi to launch EmpowerED — a five-day training program aimed at helping digital content creators navigate financial literacy, online safety, and responsible digital practices. The initiative comes at a time when over 66 million social media identities and 190 million mobile connections reflect Pakistan’s growing digital footprint.
With content creators becoming influential voices online, Bank Alfalah saw a need to support their growth through structured capacity building. The training provided practical guidance on budgeting, platform strategy, and safe digital engagement. Participants also learned to manage financial responsibilities, secure their digital presence, and understand key financial tools useful for freelancers.
The sessions were led by experts across media, cybersecurity, fintech, and content creation, offering real-world insight. Speakers included Kazi Akber, Riffat Rashid, Faisal Sheikh, and others from institutions like Jack of Digital, Data Darbar, and Bank Alfalah itself.
According to IBA-CEJ Director Shahzeb Jillani, the program reflects a commitment to building a safer, more informed digital ecosystem. Bank Alfalah’s Head of Communications, Madiha Javed Qureshi, added that empowering individuals with financial and digital awareness is a key priority as digital platforms continue to grow.
