Allied Bank Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Paysys Labs to explore new possibilities in cross-border payments through the Interledger Protocol (ILP). This collaboration is part of a broader effort to modernize financial infrastructure and make global transactions more seamless and accessible.
As part of the initiative, Paysys Labs has received the Digital Financial Services Grant from the Interledger Foundation, whose mission is to make sending money as easy as sending an email. Together, Allied Bank and Paysys Labs are working on a Proof of Concept that will integrate Allied Bank accounts with the ILP Test Network. This means customers could eventually use their accounts like digital wallets to receive payments from other regulated institutions around the world, quickly and securely.
The project reflects both organizations’ shared focus on innovation, compliance, and financial inclusion. By exploring ILP-based solutions, Allied Bank is looking ahead to a more connected global payment system that benefits individuals and businesses alike.
This pilot places both Allied Bank and Paysys Labs at the leading edge of financial innovation in Pakistan, setting a solid foundation for future advancements in international digital payments.
