Pakistan and China sign three MoUs on desalination, agricultural technology, and tea sector cooperation to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
Pakistan and China have signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to enhance bilateral cooperation in desalination, agricultural technology, and the tea sector.
President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing during his official visit to China, aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties between the two countries.
The first MoU was signed between the Government of Sindh and Lucion Environmental Technology Group to develop a seawater desalination project in Karachi, targeting increased water supply for the city.
The second agreement, signed with Long Ping Hi-tech Information Company, focuses on advancing agricultural technology cooperation.
The third MoU involves MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jiaolong International Technology to promote collaboration across the tea industry and strengthen trade and industry development.
Senior officials from both countries attended the ceremony, including representatives from the Sindh government and Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in China.
The agreements form part of broader efforts to expand cooperation under ongoing economic initiatives, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and to enhance collaboration across infrastructure, agriculture, and trade sectors.
