SadaPay has confirmed a widespread service outage after infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Bahrain was disrupted amid ongoing regional conflict.
In a statement, the fintech company said its app became unavailable following drone-related disruptions affecting the AWS Bahrain region. The firm noted that worsening conditions led to a “full app outage” for users.
SadaPay clarified that the issue was not specific to its platform but stemmed from damage to shared cloud infrastructure impacting multiple financial services across the Gulf region.
Despite the outage, the company assured users that their funds remain “safe and fully accounted for.” It added that debit cards, ATM withdrawals, and point-of-sale transactions continue to function normally.
AWS, a key cloud computing division of Amazon, also confirmed disruption in its Bahrain region, marking the second such incident in recent weeks. The company said it is assisting clients in migrating workloads to alternative regions while recovery efforts continue.
The outage follows recent reports of temporary transaction discrepancies on SadaPay accounts, which the company attributed to a separate technical issue involving a third-party provider.
