
Merchandise exports reached $20.462 billion in eight months, while imports increased and the trade deficit widened, according to official data.
Pakistan’s merchandise exports reached 20.462 billion dollars during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2025 to 2026, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The figures cover the period from July to February. Exports declined by 7.30 percent compared to 22.073 billion dollars recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Imports, however, increased by 8.06 percent, rising from 42.110 billion dollars last year to 45.504 billion dollars during the current period.
As a result, the trade deficit widened to 25.042 billion dollars, compared to 20.037 billion dollars recorded in the previous fiscal year, showing an increase of 24.98 percent.
On a year on year basis, exports in February 2026 fell by 8.76 percent to 2.272 billion dollars, compared to 2.490 billion dollars in February 2025. Imports also declined slightly by 1.61 percent during the same period.
On a month on month basis, exports dropped by 25.63 percent compared to January 2026. Imports also declined by 9.51 percent compared to the previous month.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released the data as part of its regular trade reporting.
