Zindigi and SBP Rawalpindi digitise Saddar Bazar through Raast QR, advancing financial inclusion and accelerating Pakistan’s transition toward a cashless economy.
Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Rawalpindi, has inaugurated the successful digitisation of Saddar Bazar, Bank Road Cantt, one of Rawalpindi’s most prominent commercial hubs.
Delivered under SBP’s financial inclusion framework, the initiative marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s push toward a cashless economy. By digitising one of the city’s busiest marketplaces, the project establishes a replicable model for commercial centres nationwide.
Through Zindigi Raast QR, merchants can receive secure, instant payments from any participating bank or digital wallet. Customers benefit from a seamless “scan and pay” experience with real-time confirmation, enhancing speed, transparency, and efficiency across transactions.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior civil and military officials, business leaders, and representatives from trade bodies, reflecting strong public-private collaboration. The initiative also received backing from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.
Commenting on the launch, Zindigi’s Chief Officer described Saddar Bazar as a “live lab” for next-generation payment solutions, setting a blueprint for smart, digitally enabled markets across Pakistan.
