Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has invited Chinese companies to take part in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum (PMIF) 2026, which will take place on April 8-9, as part of the country’s efforts to further cooperation in the mining and minerals sector. While addressing the Pakistan-China Minerals Cooperation Forum, the minister invited Chinese companies to take part in the event via a country pavilion to demonstrate mining technology, equipment, and expertise.
The minister pointed out the forum as a platform for engagement with policymakers, regulators, and project initiators to facilitate long-term cooperation. The minister also recognized the efforts of Chinese institutions, such as the Chinese Chamber and Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd, in furthering bilateral cooperation.
While pointing out the existing cooperation between the two countries in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said that China has helped Pakistan increase its energy resources, transport infrastructure, and electric mobility initiatives. He also pointed out that China leads the world in rare earth elements, key metals, and copper refining, which is an important reference point for Pakistan’s developing minerals sector.
The minister pointed out the ongoing geological cooperation between Pakistan and China, which will increase investor confidence, and that the government is committed to ensuring policy stability, facilitation, and approvals. As global demand for critical minerals increases, Pakistan is working to ensure that it becomes a stable long-term player in global mineral supply chains through increased cooperation with China.
