ISLAMABAD – January 16, 2026: As Pakistan prepares for its next phase of digital advancement, Jazz, Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider from JazzWorld, has partnered with global technology company ZTE and local distributor Siccotel to help close one of the most critical gaps in the country’s connectivity ecosystem — access to affordable next-generation smartphones.
Today, only an estimated 2% of smartphones in Pakistan are 5G-enabled, limiting the real-world impact of future network enhancements and slowing broader digital readiness essential for national productivity and economic growth. Through this collaboration, Jazz, ZTE, and Siccotel aim to introduce some of Pakistan’s most affordable 5G-ready devices, ensuring that more people can participate in the country’s evolving digital economy.
Under the MoU, ZTE’s next-generation 5G smartphones will be introduced in Pakistan through Siccotel as the official local distributor, with Jazz supporting nationwide availability and market access. By lowering a major adoption barrier, this partnership is designed to make advanced connectivity more accessible, particularly for young people, workers, students, and small businesses that stand to benefit from improved digital access.
Asad Maqbool, Head of Jazz Consumer Growth, said: “As Pakistan moves toward its upcoming spectrum auction, ensuring people have access to compatible smartphones becomes an essential part of digital readiness. Devices are now a core element of the infrastructure ecosystem — without them, the full benefits of future technologies cannot be realized. Our partnership with ZTE and Siccotel strengthens this foundation and expands access to next-generation handsets.”
Li Guowen, CEO ZTE, added: “ZTE is committed to making advanced technology more accessible. By working with Jazz and Siccotel to introduce affordable 5G-ready devices in Pakistan, we are supporting the country’s efforts to strengthen its broader digital ecosystem.”
Usman Sultan, CEO Siccotel, said: “As the local distribution partner, Siccotel is focused on ensuring that next-generation smartphones are widely available and accessible across Pakistan. Through this collaboration with Jazz and ZTE, we aim to support broader device adoption and help enable the country’s transition toward advanced digital connectivity.”
By enhancing access to 5G-ready devices, Jazz aims to ensure that future connectivity advancements translate into meaningful social and economic impact — from better learning and livelihoods to broader participation in digital services and entrepreneurship opportunities.
This initiative reinforces Jazz’s commitment to expanding opportunity and supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation in an inclusive and sustainable way.
