
Wateen Telecom and The Bank of Punjab have signed an agreement to establish an AI Factory aimed at supporting digital modernization in Pakistan’s banking sector.

AI factory for banking sector innovation agreement was finalised at a signing ceremony between Wateen Telecom Limited CEO Adil Rashid and The Bank of Punjab Chief Information Officer Faisal Ejaz Khan. Officials said the AI Factory will create intelligent digital frameworks tailored to modern banking needs. These systems will help institutions make real time decisions, manage risk and offer more personalised services.
The partnership combines Wateen’s digital infrastructure expertise with BOP’s customer focused approach to banking. Both sides said the initiative would enhance operational efficiency and support a secure shift toward new technology in financial services. One senior executive described the effort as a step that will “strengthen confidence in the financial sector.”
The AI Factory marks an important move toward updating Pakistan’s financial ecosystem and aligns with national goals for stronger digital capabilities. Officials noted that the collaboration will help banks adopt practical tools that improve engagement and support long term economic growth.
