

Islamabad, Pakistan — Google Developer Groups (GDG) Islamabad is gearing up for one of its most impactful DevFest seasons to date, with plans to upskill over 700 developers across Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This year’s program includes a series of hands-on technical workshops and an upcoming flagship DevFest conference designed to strengthen local expertise in AI, cloud technologies, and modern app development.

DevFest 2025 in Islamabad is structured into two phases:
Phase 1 — Road to DevFest Workshops, and
Phase 2 — the Main DevFest Conference, which is yet to take place.
The ongoing Road to DevFest workshop series has already seen strong community participation, with each session providing practical, real-world exposure to Google technologies. Workshops are sponsored by Junoon Pakistan, enabling free participation for selected attendees. The venues for these sessions include NIC Islamabad for the first two workshops, and Innovista Rawalpindi for the remaining two.
Led by Osama Amjad, AI Lead Engineer @ AI0, this session attracted 80+ developers and focused on building and deploying AI-powered solutions using the Vertex AI ecosystem.
Conducted by Abdul Rauf, Associate Director AI – People Platform @ S&P Global, the workshop welcomed 60+ participants, as he walked them through building basic agents to more advanced multi-agent AI systems.
To be led by M. Jahanzaib, Sr. Mobile App Engineer @ Bingeable Technologies, this session will introduce developers to vibe coding using Firebase, covering core tools for building efficient mobile applications.
Facilitated by Umar Nazir, Co-Manager GDG Islamabad, this workshop will explore Google’s latest advancements in creative AI—including next-gen video generation through Veo and advanced image generation with NanoBanana.
To ensure broader and more inclusive community outreach, GDG Islamabad partnered with WECON to upskill female entrepreneurs and students. The initiative featured training on tools such as NotebookLM, helping women leverage AI for academic, business, and creative applications.
