Swedish fintech company Vopy AB has collaborated with one of Pakistan’s top digital banks to introduce a special cross-border payment solution for freelancers. The move is aimed at Pakistani IT consultants working for businesses in Europe and the UK, making it easy for them to get paid for foreign assignments.
Supported by Front Ventures investment group, Vopy considers this a strategic move to access Pakistan’s thriving freelance economy. Vopy CEO Sven Hattenhauer unveiled that the Pakistani bank obtained exclusive rights for the service, which encouraged Vopy to raise its compensation due to the anticipated demand and need for rollout.
This partnership is poised to provide freelancers with a specific financial product designed to benefit them—providing quicker, safer, and more transparent channels for payment. In a world where telework is growing around the world, this union puts both Vopy and its partner in Pakistan at the cutting edge of digital financial services in South Asia.
The deal is expected to come on stream shortly, representing a promising change in the way Pakistani professionals work with foreign clients and receive payment effectively.
