Payoneer has rolled out a new fee structure for users in Pakistan, impacting freelancers, businesses, and individual account holders. Effective immediately, the revised charges apply across withdrawals, transfers, and even internal Payoneer-to-Payoneer payments.
Bank withdrawals in foreign currencies—such as USD to EUR—will now cost 3%, up from the previous 2%, marking a 50% increase. Transfers to third-party bank accounts, regardless of whether a currency conversion is involved, also carry a 3% fee. Payoneer-to-Payoneer payments are no longer free either; transactions above 500 units will be charged 0.60%, while smaller payments will face a flat fee of 3.00 in USD, EUR, or GBP. Additionally, receiving funds now incurs charges: for instance, incoming USD payments under $100 are charged $1, while payments equal to or above $100 will be subject to a 1% fee. These thresholds and percentages apply across several currencies, including EUR, GBP, and CAD.
Standard currency conversion fees remain unchanged and are applied separately. Users are encouraged to review the ‘Fees’ section in their accounts to assess how these changes affect their transaction patterns. For Pakistan’s freelance economy, cost awareness and strategic planning are now more crucial than ever.
